In this article we outline how the eXroid electrotherapy treatment successfully treats all 4 grades of haemorrhoids (1-4). Our article also importantly demonstrates, that while haemorrhoids cause significant morbidity and place a significant burden on the NHS, eXroid is an attractive out-patient based treatment option, with a very low risk of complications compared to other treatments.

The research follows 812 patients, including 503 men, 309 women with a median age of 54yrs, who were aged between 18 and 96. These individuals were treated between March 2019 and November 2020, and our article discusses how they reacted to the eXroid treatment.

Key conclusions of our research are:

–        eXroid electrotherapy can be used successfully in all four grades of internal haemorrhoid disease.

–        eXroid electrotherapy can be used in those patients taking anticoagulants without the need to stop these prior to treatment

–        The risk of serious adverse events for the eXroid procedure is very low.
